BR3. The future of risk and the relevance of insurance with Chubb

The risk landscape is evolving constantly and at increasing speed. Keeping up with these changes is challenging both for businesses and the risk and insurance industry. This interactive session will look at what the future might hold for the industry over the next few years. Alex Dunn, Senior Underwriter for Chubb’s Special Risks Unit will lead the discussion using his insights. Alex creates new and bespoke insurance solutions and deals with risks which go beyond the ordinary such as: Could a theme park insure against a particularly wet summer? Can a hotel chain protect against a local pandemic and the subsequent downturn in trade? Of interest to those working in risk and insurance, attendees will play an important part in this session and will be asked for their views on where risk and insurance is heading and what the insurance industry needs to do to stay relevant.

This brunch is for FastTrackers and Students only.

BR4. Fear of the unknown? Relax, we’ve got data.

Fear of the Unknown? Relax, we’ve got Data.

Very little on our planet is truly “unknown” anymore, an extraordinary amount of knowledge is no farther than a click away for anybody that needs it. For today’s businesses the key to sustainable growth is the ability to understand the underlying data, filter the reliable sources from the noise and listen for trends – but knowing where to start can seem daunting. Where is this data? And once found, how can it be used to overcome the threat/fear of the unknown?  Please join Adriano Lanzilotto, Client Service Manager, FM Global, on a journey through history to find out how the availability of reliable data and the ability to interpret it has made the difference, for ancient and modern ventures alike, between success and decline.

BR7. Willis Towers Watson and Rushton International ‘Women in Business’ Networking Brunch

Join Willis Towers Watson and Rushton International for our ‘Women in Business’ networking brunch. The brunch, open to all delegates, will give you a chance to network with other like-minded professionals and to hear from inspirational women.

This year, Rebecca Stephen MBE, a record-breaking mountaineer and journalist, will share her experience and thoughts on The mind: your enemy and your most powerful tool for positive change. You will hear how she became the first British woman to climb Everest and went on to become the first British woman to scale the Seven Summits, the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.

The lessons learnt in the extreme and often-dangerous natural world, working alongside and with others to accomplish a collective goal, are lessons for life, as pertinent in the challenging environment of the workplace as the vertiginous slopes of the mountains. Rebecca understands the power of authenticity, of listening to your inner voice and having the courage to follow your chosen path. Join us for what promises to be another popular Women in Business networking event.
