Debate: New Solutions.

How can businesses succeed in the New World environment? Is the insurance industry adapting to meet the expectations of its customers?

Following on from the day one debate, insurance industry leaders will discuss the New Solutions available to businesses.

Broadcaster and Journalist Cathy Newman, will open the debate with timely words on innovation.

Mirroring the day one debate, each panellist will lead on a theme, covering emerging risks, geopolitics, threat monitoring, governance, and turning data into information.


Broadcaster and Journalist

Cathy Newman is one of Channel 4 News’ main studio presenters and was the first woman to co-host the programme. She joined Channel 4 News as political correspondent and she continues to write on Westminster for the Daily Telegraph.

As well as the main news programme, Cathy has also fronted Channel 4 documentaries on faith schools and police investigations. She co-presented the broadcaster’s Alternative lection

Night with Jeremy Paxman in 2015, and contributed to the 2010 coverage as well. With Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Cathy also took an alternative look at the government’s cuts programme in How to Save £100bn.

Since joining Channel 4 News, Cathy has broken a number of big political stories includingthe arrest of David Cameron’s trusted aide Steve Hilton, the revelation that the Home Office were employing illegal immigrants, and Gordon Brown’s insistence that Labour donor Ronald Cohen receive a knighthood. Cathy’s confrontation with Peter Mandelson over his stand-off with newspaper bosses became a surprise YouTube hit, whilst her stewardship of the well Prize- nominated FactCheck Blog uncovered the truth behind everything from budgets and spending reviews to crime figures and politician’s overuse of certain words.

Prior to Channel 4, Cathy hosted GMTV’s The Sunday Programme, and served as the Financial Times’ chief political correspondent after a period covering politics and the media for the business daily. Before the FT she worked as media business correspondent at the Independent, and away from more serious issues has appeared on Have I Got News For You.


Head of Great Britain | Willis Towers Watson

Nicolas Aubert leads Great Britain at Willis Towers Watson. He also serves as the CEO of Willis Limited, the company’s principal U.K.-regulated entity.

Previously, Nicolas served as the CEO of Willis Great Britain. Prior to joining Willis, he served as the COO of American International Group (AIG) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and formerly as the managing director of AIG in the U.K. He joined AIG in June 2002 to lead AIG France, and after served in various other senior management positions including managing director of Southern Europe. Prior to AIG, Nicolas held various leadership roles at ACE, CIGNA and GAN.

Nicolas is an active participant to important market bodies.  He is President of the Insurance Institute of London, is the immediate Past Chair of the London Market Group, remaining a member of its Board, sits on the Executive Committee of LIIBA (London & International Brokers Association), and a member of TheCityUK’s Advisory Council.


Executive Director | UK, QBE European Operations

Cécile has over 16 years of insurance industry experience and leads QBE’s UK Insurance business unit.  Originally from Alsace in France, Cécile has held a variety of senior international insurance roles since beginning her career in the sector in Sydney.  Prior to joining QBE Cécile was Chief Underwriting Officer for UK General Insurance at Zurich, before which she held a number of senior positions at the insurer including head of personal lines for Europe, Middle East and Africa.


Deputy CEO | Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty

Tracey Hunt was appointed as the Deputy CEO for AGCS UK in January 2019, reporting directly to Sinéad Browne Chief Regions & Market Officer. In this role, Tracey has oversight across all lines of business, broker and client activity in AGCS UK. Tracey retains her responsibilities as Regional Head of Energy for Regional Unit London.

Tracey joined AGCS in September 2012 as Head of Growth Markets, Energy and has held her current Regional Head role since January 2015. She has more than 20 years of experience in consultancy, broking, claims and underwriting in the insurance industry.


  • Managing Director – Aon Commercial Risk Solutions

Michelle started with Aon UK Ltd at the beginning of 2017 and is Managing Director of the Global & Specialty business. She was previously at JLT where she was Head of Client Management for the Specialty Property & Casualty business. Michelle has 23 years’ experience in insurance and risk management covering cross class global account management and enterprise and operational risk management consulting, working with complex clients to develop and deliver their risk management and insurance strategies.


Property and Casualty (P&C) Chief Underwriting Officer | Chubb UK & Ireland

Mark oversees the underwriting strategy for key commercial product lines in the region including property, casualty, financial lines, construction, marine, environmental, surety and terrorism. Mark sets product guidelines and has technical oversight for product development and developing underwriting-related business intelligence.

Mark has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, including 18 with Chubb. He joined the company in 1999 as Multinational Casualty Underwriter and since then he has held a number of increasingly senior casualty underwriting and management roles.
